About Project Trust

Project Trust is an educational charity that sends school leavers on a year out, to work voluntarily in around 24 different countries. The aim of Project Trust is to provide volunteers with an educational experience through living and working with people in communities that are very different to those in which they have grown up. It is important to note that none of the volunteers take jobs away from the local people. Since it was founded in 1967, Project Trust has sent over 3000 volunteers to over 40 countries.

The Project Trust selection course is unique. People actually call it "The famous Project Trust Selection Course" as no other gap organisation runs a selection course quite like it. The course is based on the Isle of Coll. In their 5 day stay on Coll volunteers have to carry out tasks that test their communication skills, their ability to adapt to new and different situations and their dedication to their coming year out. Following my selection course I was delighted when I received a letter that informed me that I had been selected to teach young children in Malawi - "the warm heart of Africa."

However in order to achieve my aim of going to Malawi I have to raise the sum of £3,350. I can only achieve this through your support.

These pages give details about my reasons for wanting to go to Malawi, what I plan to do when I am there and what I hope to gain from my year out. They will also tell you how you can help me achieve my aims and how you would benefit from this.
