£15 from staffroom cakes. £10 from a neighbour. I provided biscuits & cakes for the Courier Debate hosted by Madras College. The good news was that this raised a further £12 and the Madras College team got through to round two!

I held a very successful Afternoon Tea in Crail which raised £70. Thanks to Duncan Lewis, Ali Hood, Lydia Dunkerley, Ben Pippard, Kevin Grossett and Rob Crawford for their help. A special thanks to Claire Jarvis (P7 Crail Primary School) for running the raffle so well and to Louise Mead for welcoming people at the door.

Was invited to talk to the St Andrews Quaker Youth Group about my Project Trust placement. They organised a bake sale for me at Meeting and raised £80. A further £5 from Christmas Cards.

I was allowed to have a stall at the school concert where I provided cakes and biscuits for parents. Mr Matheson, the Rector of the school, announced my fund raising after the concert and I raised £56. There was also a £4 order for cards.

Thank you to Mr Lindsay, Principal Teacher of English at my school for donating the sales of his annual Burn's Supper poem to my Malawi funds. This remarkable poem mentions every S6 pupil at Madras College by name. This is an amazing achievement as Madras College has the largest S6 in Scotland ... how does he do it?!! I will be selling copies of the poem at school during the next few weeks. Already sales have raised £13.

I had a stall at the S4 Parents Night and raised an amazing £103 from baking. Mr Leckie of Leckie-and-Leckie donated 50p to me for each revision book he sold at his stall and in return I gave a free cake to his customer. This raised a further £13 and generated a lot of interest since he had printed lots of "Free Chocolate Cake" leaflets for all the parents. It was all great fun. The local press was interested so .... watch this space!!

Great news! A donation of £800 towards my year's placement in Malawi from the "1989 Willan Charitable Trust" takes my total to £3752. The essential organisational costs of £3350 have now been raised. Any funds raised above this total will contribute towards my day-by-day living costs in Malawi and towards extra resources that may be needed to help fund projects in the local community during my placement.
